Sudden Junction was formed in summer 2012 from a group of music students at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. We arranged a whole load of pieces we really liked, threw them all together, played them in a few churches and cafés, and it sounded really good.
Our performances are based around the idea of finding links between pieces that at first seem really different – between a techno track, a Baltic folksong and a Ligeti piano piece, or a Bach canon, a contemporary piece for trumpet and tape-delay system and a 15th-century song.
We think music is something that is inclusive and communal and we want to invite our audiences to come join us and see what we have found. We also like to keep our performances informal and our chairs as comfy as possible.
If you’d like more information about our group, upcoming events, bookings, or you just want to say hi, drop us an email at suddenjunction [at] gmail [dot] com.
Hi!
I saw you at DRAF last night and thought it was a wonderful performance. You guys are great! Is there a way to be added to your mailing list? I would love to be kept up to date.
Thanks!
Marina
